Metamorphosis

Metamorphosis is an interesting and important process in which an animal develops physically after birth. This process  contains a sudden change in the animal's body structure and engages with the processes of differentiation and cell growth. An alteration in behavior is often found as well. Insects, amphibians, and crustaceans are some examples of animals that experience metamorphosis. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, a brilliant German poet and philosopher, discovered the Metamorphosis of Plants. Goethe discovered the homologous nature of leaf organs in plants. Homologous means of the same kind.  These transition into cotyledons. A cotyledon is a significant part of the embryo within the seed of a plant. The cotyledon then transfers into photosynthetic leaves, and then finally into the petals of a flower.
